BY FLIGHT
or BY TRAIN?
VENICE MARCO POLO AIRPORT (VCE)
Reach Venice by taxi (€40) or bus (€10–12) to Piazzale Roma, then continue on foot or by vaporetto. Alilaguna waterbuses (€18–20) offer a slower, scenic arrival, while private water taxis (€100+) take you directly near your hotel. Avoid relying on Uber.
VENICE SANTA LUCIA TRAIN STATION
If you are visiting other parts of Italy before the wedding, train is often the easiest way. Venice's Santa Lucia station sits right in the historic center. From there you can walk, take a water taxi (costs of a taxi from the train station to San Marco is around €60), or take a vaporetto.

ACCOMMODATIONS IN VENICE
A FEW CONSIDERATIONS WHEN BOOKING IN VENICE
Hotels and B&Bs are abundant in Venice and can be booked through all main booking websites, such as Booking.com and Airbnb. Feel free to find a place that suits your style, and we recommend booking early. We will add a few specific hotel recommendations in October.
Venice Proper is the most convenient area to book, placing you close to our wedding activities and the city’s main sights. From here, anywhere in the island is easily accessibly by foot or vaporetto. Accommodation here can be expensive during the high season, and we recommend booking early.
Mestre is another nearby option, and the city offers significantly lower prices and frequent train and bus connections to Venice, making it a practical, budget-friendly base for the weekend.
Lido and Giudecca islands provide a quieter, more attractive alternative with beaches and generally affordable stays. However, they are accessible only by boat, and returning after a late night may require an expensive water taxi instead of vaporetto.
